All-round welder: for specific and certified welding work

An all-round welder is a welder who works according to technical specifications and quality standards. In addition, you also supervise beginning welders. You convey your knowledge, help them on their way and check the work. An all-round welder welds production work as well as custom-made work. It is certified welding work that must meet quality requirements and safety regulations. An all-round welder is employed by companies or departments specializing in sheet metal, construction or installation work, where welding is part of the production process. But also in the petrochemical industry and offshore.

What does an all-round welder do?

The all-round welder often works in a combination function as welder/construction fitter or welder/co-operating foreman. Assignments are carried out independently. He often makes specialist, certified welding work. He reads welding technical drawings and welding method descriptions (WPS) and is able to interpret them. The all-round welder makes, repairs and adapts construction parts by applying various techniques.

The all-round welder receives orders from the company office, assistant welding foreman and/or workshop manager. The all-round welder reports to the cooperating welding foreman and/or workshop manager.

Independence
The approach to your work depends on the situation or is discussed in advance. You make your own contribution to the working method and solve problems on the basis of insight and experience.

Welding in places that are difficult to access is not a problem. You are able to achieve good results with an eye for quality.

What is part of the all-round welder training?

In order to grow in the profession and possess the right competencies, a learning path has been set out for the basic welder. This consists of welding training, welding courses and workshops.
