"The welding world is getting to know our added value better and better"
What is the added value of Elektrolas? Making that clear requires communication. Sometimes in the form of a newsletter, web text or product documentation. Another time in the form of a demo film, presentation or event. Yvette Janssen is Marketing Communication Officer at Elektrolas. She is the one who knows how to translate her colleagues' knowledge into concrete communication tools. Everything she sends out into the world revolves around one question: what is the benefit for our customer?
Vision
‘In 2017, I started at Elektrolas as a Management Assistant. This position covered everything I was looking for at the time, including the marketing communication component. Not for nothing did I choose an internship for my HBO Manager Recreation Company that focused on that field. Before joining Elektrolas, I worked in the hospitality industry. Initially alongside my studies in service, later as a manager. The hospitality industry has been a good learning experience. You learn to be alert and to think in a guest-oriented way. By responding adequately to the smallest signals - a hand gesture, a look or other body language - you and your team do everything possible to make the guests happy. This requires a great sense of responsibility. In this, I see parallels with Elektrolas' vision of advice, service and quality. We want to propagate this with all our colleagues. In word and deed.’
One point of contact in the welding field
‘For our customers, a well-organised welding department is an indispensable cog in the total production line. Elektrolas offers them continuity and security. We have everything they need to weld smarter, better and safer. A single point of contact for everything to do with welding. Our offer is clearly summarised in the Five: Sales, Rental, Training, Service and Quality Management. Through good communication, we want to convince welders, production managers, engineers, buyers and quality managers to put their questions to Elektrolas. We do this through product documentation, newsletters, workshops, demos, relationship days, exhibitions and inspiration sessions, among other things.’
Optimising and innovating
‘Marketing communication has become increasingly important for Elektrolas. Firstly, because our company and the number of customers has grown. But also because our approach increasingly distinguishes us within the welding market. I have transferred my tasks around management support to a new management assistant so that I can fully focus on marketing and communication. At Elektrolas, work never stands still. Every day, we take steps that are important for our future, for improving processes and for continuously optimising and innovating our customers' welding shops. Real technicians with knowledge of the entire field work here. IWTs, service engineers, consultants, teachers. Driven colleagues with knowledge, experience and ideas. As a volleyball fanatic and from a close-knit family, I am a real team player. I find that same closeness within Elektrolas.’
Knowledge Institute
‘The welding world is getting to know us better and better. Our knowledge of materials and welding processes and how customers use them to improve their production. We find it important to share our knowledge because we believe in working better, smarter and safer together. The inspiration sessions we organise are designed with this in mind. Always a different theme, topical for the market and transferring knowledge are central. We want to inform and help the market to innovate.’
Transitions
‘How will Elektrolas develop in the future? I think expansion of our company is inevitable in the long run to give even more space to all activities within our Disc of Five. We will continue to closely monitor developments in the welding field to respond proactively. Important transitions we see in the welding workshop are smarter working, flexibility and digitalisation. As Elektrolas, we want to make an important contribution to this development. It is my job to keep communicating about this and make the name Elektrolas as an innovative partner top of mind among all production managers.’
