SMAW welding training level 1 to 4

In this training you will learn the professional craftsmanship of arc welding with covered electrode. After the training, you should be able to perform the described and established skills independently using the usual drawings and work instructions.

SMAW welding training level 1

In terms of content, the following issues are addressed:

  • Welding processes (principles).
  • Welding equipment for arc welding with covered electrodes.
  • Principle of arc welding.
  • Welding of I-seams in the position PA and PG and inner and outer corner seams in the position PA, PB and PC.
  • Welding of plate, pipe and profile workpieces and assemblies in the above-mentioned positions. Particular attention is also paid to selecting the correct parameters and preventing faults.

Duration of welding course: 13 or 17 weeks.

SMAW welding training level 2

In terms of content, the following issues are covered:

  • Chemical concepts.
  • Iron and steel preparation.
  • Cast iron/cast steel and alloying elements.
  • The influence of carbon on the properties of steel and its effect on the weldability of steel.
  • Forms of trade of steel products Welding research.
  • Welding of inner corner seams in the positions PB, PD, PF and PG, outer corner seams in the positions PB and PD; V-seams in the positions PA and PF; I-seams in the positions PA and PG.
  • Welding of workpieces composed of sheet in which previously mentioned seam shape, seam forms and welding positions occur.

Duration of welding course: 13 or 17 weeks.

SMAW welding training level 3

In terms of content, the following issues are covered:

  • Welding seam forms and pretreatments.
  • Loads on structures.
  • Shrinkage phenomena.
  • Welding positions and weld seam designations on drawings.
  • Reading drawings.
  • Welding of inner and outer corner seams in the positions PB, PD, PF, PG. V-joints in the PA and PF positions.
  • Welding from sheet of composite workpieces in which mentioned seam forms and welding positions occur.

Duration of welding course: 26 or 34 weeks.

SMAW welding training level 4

In terms of content, the following issues are covered:

  • Process variables in welding.
  • The arc.
  • Welding consumables.
  • Welding sequences, causes and occurrences.
  • Welding in practice.
  • Safety, health, welfare and environment (Arbo).
  • Welding of plate joints in all welding positions using the usual seam forms and (corner seams, V-seams, double V-seams, etc).

Duration of welding course: 26 or 34 weeks.

Elektrolas Welding School

Because we work with small groups there is a lot of personal attention and guidance. Our welding school uses the latest equipment and lessons are given by experienced teachers. During the training we pay a visit to a destructive testing lab. Here, our students see how the materials they deal with every day are tested.
